What if our travel arrangements change and we are away longer than we originally told PetzRFamily2?
PetzRFamily2 does ask that you notify any schedule changes as soon as you know them. PetzRFamily2 always asks for you to call or text upon your arrival to ensure your pet’s safety and wellbeing. A visit will be made to your home (with an additional charge) if you do not contact PetzRFamily2 upon arrival. Our primary concern is the safety of your pets and your home.
What about short notice service?
PetzRFamily2 understands that things happen which may prevent you from returning home as scheduled, or may require you to leave town on short notice. Once you are registered with PetzRFamily2, we will be prepared to handle short notice assignments, but as a general rule, as soon as you know your plans, make plans for your pet.

When and how do I pay for service?
Payment is preferred upon the scheduling of pet sitting services. New clients must pay for first service at time of booking or initial Meet and Greet. For services longer than 7 days and Holidays, 20% payment must be made within 7 days of scheduling to hold booking. Holiday bookings must be "locked in" with full payment at least 30 days before the Holiday. Without this, we can not guarantee service during our busiest times of the year. Please note our cancellation policy for Holidays under payment. Absolutely, no service will begin without payment unless prior arrangements have been made.
PetzRFamily2 happily accepts Cash, Personal Checks, Money Orders, Venmo or Paypal. At this time, PetzRFamily2 does not accept credit or debit cards.

How many visits a day should I schedule and what type of visit will you make to my home?
This is a personal decision that we can discuss at our Meet and Greet. Most requested for dogs are 3 visits a day with at least one of the visits being the extended 45-minute visit or the 60-minute visit. Cats and small caged animals are mostly 1 to 2 visits daily. PetzRFamily2 will happily make as many visits as requested to ensure the safety and care of your pets.
For the safety of your precious babies, each pet is required to be visited AT LEAST ONCE EVERY 24 HOURS. You never know when a water dish might have been knocked over or an accident has occurred. Please ask about special arrangements that you and your pet may need.

I paid for a 30-minute visit, but the pet visit took 35-minutes. Will I be charged for this?
If regular sit duties happened to take a little longer than usual, there will be no charge. However, if your pet was ill requiring clean-up, or we felt that your "baby" required some extra TLC, you will be billed the extra time at the conclusion of your trip. Please note that PetzRFamily2 will always be thinking of your pet's safety, comfort and emotional well-being and your peace of mind when making this decision.
Should we make reservations?
We suggest that you reserve pet sitting services as far in advance as possible. Remember that Holidays and weekends are the busiest times and PetzRFamily2 needs to plan accordingly to provide the best possible service for every client. However, if something should arise last minute, please do not hesitate to call/text and we will do our best to work you into our schedule. 48 hours notice is requested for cancellations. A cancellation fee may apply.
Do you provide service on Holidays?
As you can imagine, Holidays are the busiest time of year for pet-sitters, so please book your dates/services as soon as you make vacation plans. PetzRFamily2 has limited availability during Holidays as we enjoy seeing our friends and family, as well. Please note, we do not offer our daily dog walking on the Holidays listed below. If you are a daily dog walking client that does need Holiday service and your daily walk day falls on a Holiday, please remember to contact us at least two weeks in advance so that you will be in the schedule. A Holiday service charge will be applied to your daily walk.

You have my keys...are they safe?
PetzRFamily2 takes security very seriously. After you have given us your keys at your initial Meet and Greet, they will be put in a secure lock box, only identified with your last initial and start day. One key will be kept there at all times in the unlikely event that the other is locked in the home, no longer works, or is lost. The other key(s) will also be kept in the locked box unless it is being currently used. The only people who will have access to your keys are those in our business who are insured and bonded by PetzRFamily2. PetzRFamily2 will do a "key cleanse" once a year for any clients not using our services within a year period. Therefore, if you are wanting your key(s) returned, it is important you contact us.
Are you able to administer shots or give other medications?
Yes, having had our dog, Spencer who required insulin twice daily and our other dog, Brit who received monthly arthritis shots, we are skilled at administering injections. We also have experience giving oral medication to both cats, as well as dogs. PetzRFamily2 understands how hard it is to leave your pet when they need this extra type of care and will give him/her all the love and care they need while you are away. Also, if you have a newly diagnosed animal and need additional support, please contact Cynthia. Support visits start a $30.00.

Can you administer medication on a very specific schedule?
Some medicines need to be administered on a very particular schedule. We can meet the schedule that you specify as long as all visits are during our standard service hours (between 8:30 am and 7 pm). If medication needs to be administered in the middle of the night or you feel your pet’s safety warrants someone with him/her overnight, please use our “Slumber Party” service. When an animal is on medication, it is very important to have full disclosure to us that your fur baby is stable and what to do in an emergency. This is for your furkids safety as well as our own liability.
Can you keep my pet at your home or facility instead of coming to my home?
We do not offer any boarding or kenneling facilities. We only provide care at your home either as pet sitting visits during the day and/or the overnight, “Slumber Party”. If you need a place to take your furry canine for an overnight, we highly suggest Ed and Cookie with Purr-fect Petsitting @ (707) 255-5294 who offer in-home sitting, perfect for the smaller dogs. PetzRFamily2 also highly recommends Cindy Clark with Marjories Mom Doggie B and B @ (707) 253-8891 for those clients who prefer a loving family care environment. Please call for other local recommendations. PetzRFamily2 is also happy to help you determine what type of service, i.e. regular vacation care, "slumber party" (overnights in your home) plus pet sits or in-home sitting, if you are unsure what is best for your "baby".
What will you do if my pet becomes ill while I am away?
If we suspect that something is wrong with your pet, we will call and/or text you at the emergency phone numbers we have on file for you. We will describe the situation with your pet. If you believe the veterinarian should see your pet, we will transport your pet to your veterinarian's office for examination and treatment. In the event we cannot reach you, we will decide if your pet should be seen by the veterinarian. If we are unable to contact your vet, we will take your pet to Napa River Pet or Napa West or if after hours, the Solano Emergency Vet Clinic. You will be billed for any extra time we spend for these services.
How does the "Hotel Buddy" service work?
More and more people are traveling with their pets. If you are visiting Napa or find that you will be visiting soon, please contact PetzRFamily2 to have your "baby" pampered and loved while you are dining, tasting wine or other activities that only human folk are invited. A "Hotel Buddy" service form will be filled out before arriving in Napa (if possible) or at the hotel before service begins. Hotel Buddy service is $35 per hour ($40 for two dogs or more) with a two-hour minimum for this service. All payment must be paid by cash or Venmo upon receipt of service. It is always advised that when traveling with your pet, that you have all shot records and medical history in the event of an emergency. In the event of any such emergency, and we are not able to reach you, your pet will be taken to Napa River Vet @ 707/690-9915.
